About Me

Academics

I am a 2nd year Observational Astrophysics PhD student at Lancaster University; and I work under Dr. Brooke Simmons. In short, I specialise in galaxy evolution, with a research focus on the physical interpretation of radio continuum emission, star formation, and AGN activity across cosmic time and environment. My work combines deep radio surveys, optical-infrared imaging, spectroscopy, and machine-learning techniques to address fundamental limitations in commonly used galaxy evolution diagnostics.

Aside from my PhD activities, I am also the President of the Zimbabwean Astronomical Society. This society was launched with the aims of improving access to Astronomy and STEM education in Zimbabwe.

I have a 1st class degree in astrophysics from Aberystwyth University (2020-2023), and I have had numerous research internships during my undergrad degree, namely at Oxford University, Paris-Saclay, and Aberystwyth University; as well as various grants and scholarships (mentioned in CV).

My CV can be accessed here, and my publication list can be accessed here.

Activities

Aside from academia, I just really like to travel and learn about the world around me.

Sports, languages, African history, and food are huge passions of mine, whether I’m in a jiu jitsu competition, learning my native tongue, or trying my hand at cooking various African cuisines, as long as I’m doing something difficult or new, I’m happy 🙂
